Brandon University Visual and Aboriginal Arts Department presents Y: This Generation, BFA Thesis exhibition by Alison Cooper.

Marked by an increased familiarity with communications, media, and digital technology, Generation Y encompasses individuals born between 1980 and 1998. As a young woman and artist within this modern technological age, Cooper explores the advanced consumptive nature attributed to her generation. Ceramic sculpture and mixed media artwork embody the relationship of this developing generation’s fixation on vanity. Digital electronics foster a greater capacity to disseminate information to create an individual self-image. Characterized by Cooper’s ongoing research into the layered term viral, this exhibition reflects personal observations on Generation Y.
