No Limits

An open call student exhibition

NO LIMITS
IWGI Department of Visual Art Student Exhibition
February 27 – March 13, 2025

This exhibition is a celebration of creativity stemming from the Visual Art student community here at Brandon University. This show was an open call for students enrolled in visual art courses, giving them an opportunity to submit their work in any media of their liking and showcase a genuine reflection of their artistry. The artworks ranged from paintings, drawings, mix media, and clay sculptures that featured various genres and highlighted our student’s skills. This was the first open-call student show since the pandemic, marking an important step forward in strengthening our student art community and the support system amongst them. The title was voted on by the community, aligning with our goals of encouraging participation and creative input. We wanted to create a safe space for students to take risks, indulge in art, and most importantly, be themselves, thus, No Limits became the most suitable title for the exhibition. This concept resonated with many people; to be able to express themselves freely and share what they love without restrictions to their creativity. We want to continue to encourage and provide students with opportunities to be discovered, to feel seen, and to be heard. We hope that this show may open the doors for more opportunities in the future, where the art community can come together and create a strong, accessible, safe, and inclusive environment here at Brandon University.
